I have been tearing a path across the middle of the country.  Today’s major stop…Memphis.  Not going to Beale street or doing any sightseeing.  I am here for a return visit to one place and one place only…Gus’s Famous Fried Chicken.

Just like the first time I was here about 5 years ago, the place was crowded with people waiting outside.  I had to wait about 45 minutes before they could seat me.  It was worth the wait.

I had a fried chicken plate with fried okra and mac & cheese as the sides.  The chicken was just as delicious as I remember and still ranks as the best I have ever had.
