Every(one) Christian Has A Testimony

Every Christian has a testimony, we, as fellow Christians, have to listen for the message of GOD in it.

I feel that sometimes we think that the only place we hear miraculous stories of GOD and his awesome wonders is in Church. Sometimes on television. GOD works in ALL of our lives. Every living thing. GOD created everything. The Heavens. The Earth. The Sea. Everything that resides in all of them. Knowing that GOD created all living creatures it goes without saying that he has already worked in everyones life. Many people just do not recognize it. Everything that is done cannot be seen. Part of sharing Jesus and the good news of the kingdom of GOD is to let others know of the things GOD has done in your life. These are the things that may never be written about or talked about on the news.

Today I thought about this while at a local laundry. Although I have a washer and dryer in the apartment I rent, it is not the full sized versions and cannot handle large blankets or comforters. So occasionally I will go to clean those items. I have learned to go early in the morning, not long after opening for the best success of getting in-and-out. You will also have the ability to have the largest selection of machines available, whereas later in the day, you may be waiting for some time or competing with others for the same machines.

While loading my wash I struck up a conversation with an older gentleman who, after the initial greeting, started by telling me his age. He was like “Thank GOD, I just turned 75 years old, and look at me…” I looked, and he looked good. If he had not told me and I had to guess, I would think he was at least ten years younger than the age he stated. I agreed with him that GOD was indeed good! Then he continued, “I had a heart attack at 70, and GOD brought me through that!” I was like “Wow! That is awesome!”

I started thinking about testimonies in my life that I was about to share with him, but before I could speak he continued, “Yeah, and I beat crack cocaine! GOD helped me through that. Haven’t touched it. Lost the taste for it, and alcohol too at the same time!” I was like “Wow, that is awesome too! Keep it going! GOD has done great things and you are here to tell it where others are not.” He continued with more, “Yeah, and I beat diabetes too! Used to weigh 320lbs. Used to take multiple shots a day. Not anymore. It is under control and I do not have to take medicine for it. Had to get that weight up off of me!” I looked it him. He was around my height, somewhere around 6ft tall, but looked to my estimation to be around 180lbs or so. “And you have to exercise too!” he said.

I ended up walking outside to my vehicle to run a quick errand while my clothes were washing, but my mind was on all that had just transpired. This man, through the glory of GOD, survived a heart attack, came through a crack-drug-cocaine addition, overcame alcohol, lost a tremendous amount of weight, and reversed the negative effects of diabetes. What an awesome testimony that he shared with me! I heard it.

I started thinking, everything isn’t about me. And others, who may be a bit self absorbed, everything isn’t about you. We all have testimonies of things both great and small that GOD has done in our lives (Although I am of the opinion that everything that GOD does in my life is a GREAT thing). Sometimes we need to listen and learn. Sometimes we have to hear and feel (Amen) the testimony of others about things done by the Almighty GOD and Jesus Christ.

There was a reason that I needed to hear his testimony. There was a reason he needed to tell it. There is a reason that everyone, especially GOD fearing Christians, need to share our own testimonies about GOD. It is inspiring. It is edifying. It is also a way to preach the gospel of Christ
